Information on applications and application forms

The Schmitz Foundations fund projects which are complete in themselves which run over a period of, at most, four years.

There are many different forms of co-operation possible with the Schmitz Foundations in the areas of development aid, the promotion of international understanding and charitable projects:

  • Small-scale and individual measures with an annual funding requirement of up to Euro 15000

  • Larger scale, jointly funded projects (with the Ministry BMZ or the EU) with longer running times

When funding projects, we look, whenever possible, for a direct contribution from the beneficiaries themselves or for joint funding with the organisation submitting the project application.

For an initial assessment, outline project proposals (in German or English) should be submitted to our Foundations, where possible by E-mail. For this purpose please make use of our outline application form. If, after our initial assessment, we see any possibility of funding through our Foundations, we will then ask you to submit a detailed project application using our standard application form.

When submitting proposals for larger-scale projects requiring public funding, we would draw your attention to the official application guidelines issued by the German Ministry of Economic Co-operation (BMZ) and Development and the European Union (EU).
